Torrential and flood-like rainfall early Tuesday, 17 Shahrivar, across cities and villages in northern Iran led to flooding of public thoroughfares and streets, and water was reported running along some routes. The intensity of the rainfall was higher in parts of these areas, and in some locations disruptions to commuting were reported. The increase in runoff volumes and the rising levels of rivers and streams have also raised concerns about the likelihood of damage in vulnerable areas.
