🔶 The electoral atmosphere in Saxony-Anhalt; dominance of dissatisfaction and AfD’s lead

Political and social circles are watching the state election in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt with excitement and special attention.

Ahead of the state election on Sunday, September 6, the political climate in this state has changed significantly. According to the latest pre-election poll, Alternative for Germany (AfD) is in the lead with 42 percent of the vote, far ahead of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), which has won only 22 percent of support.

The Left Party (Die Linke) is emerging as the third strong force with 11 percent, while the Social Democratic Party (SPD) has received 8 percent of the vote.

The Greens, too, with 6 percent, may have difficulty entering the state parliament, but the Sarah Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) and the Free Democratic Party (FDP), with four percent or less, are currently below the threshold for entering parliament.
