Ted Cruz, the U.S. Republican senator, told Parisa Hosseini, an Iran International reporter, that Donald Trump’s move to dismantle the Islamic Republic’s military capability was the most important and most impactful decision of his presidency.

Cruz said Trump took this step to keep America secure, and it should not be allowed for the Islamic Republic to obtain nuclear weapons.

He also said he doubts the United States will send ground forces for a long-term presence in Iran, although Washington may decide on a limited intervention.
