🔺Syria Announces the Detention of Suspects in Recent Bombings in Damascus

▪ Syrian officials said that they had detained several suspects accused of being involved in a series of recent explosions in Damascus, including bombings that occurred during the visit of Emmanuel Macron, president of France.

▪ One of the officials of Syria’s internal security forces said on Thursday that the group “Islamic State” (ISIS) was responsible for these bombings. The extremist group has not, so far, claimed responsibility for these attacks.

▪ In a statement, Syria’s Ministry of Interior said that security forces carried out raids in the Syrian capital and surrounding areas and “managed to completely dismantle the core responsible for these bombings.”
