Reuters reported that a UK government spokesperson, in response to the threat by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, said that the country’s armed forces are prepared to defend Britain against any kind of attack.

The remarks came after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned about the use of American bombers from British military bases.

The UK government spokesperson said: “Our armed forces are ready to protect the United Kingdom against any type of attack, whether on the territory of the country or abroad. Britain is continuously prepared to defend itself.”

According to the report, the spokesperson explained that this readiness includes making use of a multi-layer defense system against air and missile attacks, provided through the capabilities of the Royal Navy, the British Army and the Royal Air Force, and relying on a set of advanced equipment and close cooperation with its allies in NATO.”
