Pete Hegseth, U.S. Secretary of Defense, at the memorial ceremony for the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, said about the war in Iran: “In the past six months, we have destroyed the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism. Our forces have fought a Islamic religious government that has been seeking our deaths for nearly half a century.”
Hegseth added: “For decades, the Iranian government has supported terrorist attacks against Americans and killed thousands of people, including our comrades in Iraq and Afghanistan; they hadn’t seen Trump coming in their calculations.”
The U.S. Secretary of Defense said that America killed the leaders of the Iranian government, destroyed their air force, and that their navy is now at the bottom of the sea.
Hegseth, stressing that the United States is confident that the Islamic Republic will not gain access to nuclear weapons, said: “Economic pressure on Iran is increasing day by day; we control the Strait and we will bring this battle to an end.”
