Mourad Vaisi, senior analyst at Iran International, said: “A government whose highest judicial authority, following the popular uprising, issues instructions for the issuance and faster and greater execution of death sentences, has shown that it neither wants nor can be reformed. This government has closed the path to reform for itself for years, and by continuing the killings in the streets and in prisons, it has made its own overthrow the only remaining option.”
