🔻Mohsen Rezaei: For the first time, we used an Iranian anti-ship missile against the United States
Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, claimed in a television interview: “48 hours ago, for the first time, we tested an Iranian anti-ship missile over an American warship. This particular missile created a hell for Americans and they fled.”
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has not shown any direct reaction to this claim by Iran, but yesterday, in a post published on the X platform, it alluded indirectly to an attack on its two warships and wrote: “Message to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps: Be clear—if you fire at our two ships, we will impose much heavier economic costs on you and destroy three of your ships. We will have no hesitation in defending American forces, and if necessary, we will destroy the limited and vulnerable fleet of Iran’s oil tankers.”
In this interview, Mr. Rezaei also spoke about the creation of a maritime exclusion zone and explained that: “In the days ahead, we will announce a new prohibited area that will include the distance between the American blockade line and the loading ports, and any ship on either side of the Strait of Hormuz that moves and intends to move toward the strait will be entered in Iran’s sanctions list.”
The former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, about the consequences of transit in this area, said: “The ships that violate and take action without coordination with Iran will be added to Iran’s sanctions list, and will face consequences such as problems with insurance and subsequent transit and travel.”
