The Élysée Palace, the French presidential office, announced that Mark Rutte, the Secretary General of NATO, and Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, will take part on Monday in a meeting of several countries in Paris to support Ukraine.
The Élysée said on Friday that two other countries—Moldova and North Macedonia—have also joined this coalition. The French presidency also added that Ursula von der Leyen and António Costa, the leaders of the European Union, are expected to take part in the Paris meeting.
The meeting will be held with the aim of making use of the momentum created for aid to Ukraine after the recent NATO leaders’ summit.
The Élysée said that preparations to provide security guarantees at the time of reaching a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia are still ongoing.
At recent summits of the Group of Seven and NATO, U.S. President Donald Trump has taken a supportive position toward Kyiv in that country’s battle against Russia.
