🔶 Laleh Marzban wins Best Actress award in Venice’s Horizons section
Laleh Marzban, an Iranian actress, won the Best Actress award in the Horizons section at the eighty-third Venice International Film Festival for her performance in the film “The Caregiver.”
“The Caregiver,” directed by Mohsen Qarai, was screened at the Venice Film Festival in the competitive Horizons section. This section is one of the important sections of the Venice festival and is usually reserved for films that represent fresh approaches in world cinema.
Along with Laleh Marzban, Farhad Aslani, Reema Raminfar, and Elna Khabazan also star in this film.
“The Caregiver” is a co-production of Iran, the United States, and Germany.
The film has been accompanied by political and security sensitivities due to the fact that the actresses do not wear mandatory hijab.
According to Rooydad 24, “The Caregiver” is a social film with political undertones that examines the lives of prison guards and how this job affects these individuals’ personal lives.
