🔺Japan, after opposing the Islamic Republic’s proposal regarding the Strait of Hormuz, held talks with Oman

▪ Japan and Oman held their international legal dialogue session focused on the Strait of Hormuz via video conference. The talks took place after Japan informed the Islamic Republic that it does not accept determining the status of the Strait of Hormuz bilaterally between Iran and Oman.

▪ Based on a statement by Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Tuesday the two sides exchanged their views on international legal matters related to the situation around the Strait of Hormuz.

▪ The Japanese delegation was led by Kazuhiko Nakamura, legal adviser and director-general of the Office of International Legal Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On behalf of Oman, Thani Harith Al-Mahrouqi, head of the Office of the Continental Shelf and Maritime Affairs, participated.
