The Israel Defense Forces announced that on Tuesday, 23 Tir, it killed “Husam Shaafi,” a terrorist from the East Khan Younis Battalion in the military wing of Hamas, in the south of the Gaza Strip.

According to a statement by the Israel Defense Forces, Shaafi carried out the attack on the NIR AM kibbutz during the October 7 massacre and was involved in the abduction of three Israeli army personnel—Lt. Col. Asaf Hamami, First Sergeant Tomer Akhimes, and Sergeant Kirill Brodsky—who were killed in the fighting in this kibbutz.

The Israeli army also said that this terrorist played a role in advancing terrorist plots throughout the war and in the recent period, and was considered a threat to Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip.
