🔻The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which had reported in the early hours of Tuesday morning its missile attacks on American bases in Jordan, claimed in a new statement that it attacked American warships with ballistic missiles.

In the new IRGC statement, published in the early hours of Wednesday, it said: “With powerful ballistic missiles, it targeted the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers DDG-119 and DDG-53, which carry cruise and Aegis missiles,” and claimed that it caused damage to them.

An hour before that, CENTCOM, in a statement, said that in response to Iran’s attempt to target its warships, it attacked five Iranian oil tankers and destroyed them.

The issue of Iran’s missile attack on American warships has, over the past few days, become one of the main challenges between the two sides.

A few days ago, Mohsen Rezaei said that Iranian forces were able to target anti-ship missiles at close range to U.S. warships.

The United States rejected any targeting of its warships, but in response to such attempts it began targeting Iranian oil tankers.
