🔻The representative of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hormozgan province announced that the UAE prevented, at the last moment, the departure of detained Hormozgan fishermen.
The representative said: “The return tickets for the detained fishermen in the UAE had been issued to Bandar Abbas, and all the necessary coordination between Iranian and UAE officials for their return had been carried out, but at the last moment, the UAE side prevented the departure of these Hormozgan citizens without providing a reasonable and valid reason.”
Iran’s Foreign Ministry says that 10 Iranian fishermen who disappeared in the waters of the Persian Gulf a few weeks ago are alive and in the UAE and will return to Iran soon.
News of the disappearance of these fishermen had been published in late Mordad.
Witnesses told Iran’s News Network that they were last seen around Siri Island.
Siri Island is one of Iran’s southernmost islands in the Persian Gulf, and is near Abu Musa Island.
In a report at the time, it was said on IRIB that unwanted entry into the territorial waters of neighboring countries is not uncommon, but that war conditions have increased the “concerns.”
