🔻Iran’s Foreign Ministers’ Meeting With Gulf States to Be Held Monday in Oman
Iran says that on Monday it will participate in a meeting of the foreign ministers of the coastal countries of the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman in Muscat.
Ismail Baghaei said the meeting is an important development “toward building trust and cooperation among the countries of the region to strengthen peace and stability in the region, away from the destructive and provocation-inviting interference of actors outside the region.”
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson also said: “Regarding the results of Iran–Oman negotiations, discussion and consultation will also take place regarding the determination of secure routes for commercial navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.”
Iran says it has reached an understanding with Oman on a map of the transit routes of ships through the Strait of Hormuz and is currently negotiating a joint statement.
Iran says that U.S. interference and naval blockade have delayed the joint statement.
