The International Atomic Energy Agency said it is examining reports related to an attack on the site where the Darquain nuclear power plant is being built in south-western Iran.
Based on a statement by the agency, the facility is at a very early stage of construction, and at the last visit by the Agency’s inspectors, no nuclear material was present there.
The Agency said the attack is unlikely to pose a radiation risk, but Rafael Grossi, the head of the Agency, once again called for military restraint near all facilities related to nuclear activity.
According to the same statement, the Agency has contacted Iranian authorities and will publish further information.
