Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the foreign minister of the Islamic Republic, in a phone call with Kaja Kallas, the EU foreign policy chief, strongly condemned Ukraine’s attack on an Islamic Republic vessel in the Caspian Sea.
According to the Islamic Republic’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he called for a firm response from the UN Security Council, the European Union, and the international community, and for “holding the perpetrators of this attack accountable.”
Based on this report, Amir-Abdollahian and Kallas, referring to developments in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, emphasized the “necessity of taking diplomatic initiatives to manage tensions.”
