Hang Kao, head of the U.S. Navy Department, told The Epoch Times that forces of the Islamic Republic have inflicted extensive damage on a U.S. Navy support base in Bahrain, where the country’s Fifth Fleet is based.

In explaining the recent deployment of the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and the logistical requirements of long-term operations, Kao said that the damage done to the Bahrain base has affected the ability to support this carrier.

He said: “The crew of this carrier had no place to dock.”
