Finland will join France's advanced nuclear deterrence project, the two countries' leaders said in a joint statement.

Finnish Defense Minister Antti Hakkanen said that the French project does not create a collective defense system similar to the NATO model.

Finland's Defense Ministry noted that the project does not conflict with the nuclear test ban and the obligations of signatories to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
