Clashes between security forces and armed individuals in Saravan leave “seven dead” from both sides. Local media in Sistan and Baluchestan reported that the clash lasted about nine hours.
The Qods Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ground Forces announced that in these clashes, which “continued until before this morning’s noon,” four people—whom it called “terrorists”—were killed. Three IRGC forces were also killed.
It has been reported that, in the Saravan district, in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, security and police forces in the province launched an “assault on a team house.”
Ali Khalil Abadi, the security and law-enforcement deputy of the governor of Sistan and Baluchestan, described these people as “one of the terrorist and hostile groups,” but did not provide more details.
Security officials in Sistan and Baluchestan said the previous Monday that three organized and operational cells affiliated with what they called “the Takfiri groups supported by the United States and Israel” had been identified and “disrupted” before any action in border areas.
