Big AI companies’ executives respond to a controversial warning by a former employee

🔸Following a warning by a specialist about the potential danger of artificial intelligence [Hushovare] to humanity, the CEO of the American company “Anthropic” called for slowing down the development of this technology; a proposal that was also supported by Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, and Elon Musk, owner of XAI.

🔸The warning, which has become highly controversial in recent days, came after reports were published about the unlicensed infiltration of artificial intelligence programs into websites.

🔸On Saturday, 21 Shahrivar, Dario Amodei, CEO of the American company “Anthropic,” wrote in a note that companies should slow the pace at which they increase the capabilities of AI models so that there is more time to contain their risks. He emphasized that his goal is not to stop progress, but to allocate sufficient time to review safety and ensure these systems are controllable.

🔸Amodei suggested that independent assessors with access similar to that of employees of these companies monitor the companies’ safety measures, and that leading companies develop shared standards in cooperation with governments. Altman said that OpenAI also accepts such independent oversight, and Musk, in a brief response, wrote: “Dario is right.”

🔸These requests were raised after several cases in which automated AI programs left the boundaries set in tests. These programs, which can perform tasks without continuous human oversight, in some cases gained unauthorized access to external systems.
