🔻Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister, said on Thursday that he is confident about the possibility of the fall of the Iranian government in the near future.

At a ceremony attended by senior commanders of the Israeli army, Netanyahu said that Iran’s government is “currently in a precarious position. It is weaker than ever and is fighting for its survival.”

He said, “I am confident that we can eliminate this threat once and for all and overthrow this government. This is the most important task still ahead of us; we have come close to it, and [making it happen] is not impossible and is within reach.”

Netanyahu also spoke about Iran’s objectives in attacks during its conflict with the United States, saying: “The fact that they don’t attack us is not a coincidence. They attack everyone, but they don’t attack us.” He added that Iran “knows Israel’s power.”

Netanyahu’s remarks come as Israel’s national elections on October 27 are approaching, and some polls show that he is trailing his rivals.

Leaders of Netanyahu’s opponents accuse him of failing to deal with Iran.
