Baqai: Iran’s sovereign rights over the Strait of Hormuz are non-negotiable
Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Even without relying on Article 5 of the memorandum of understanding, Iran, as the coastal state of the Strait of Hormuz, enjoys legal and sovereign rights.
The experience of military incursions by the United States and the Zionist regime, along with the support of some countries in the region, showed that this vital waterway must not be allowed to be exploited against the country’s security and national interests.
Iran is determined to, in cooperation with Oman, adopt the necessary measures and arrangements to fully exercise its sovereignty and prevent any security threats in the Strait of Hormuz.
