Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior announced that an air-raid alert has been activated in the country.

The ministry asked citizens and residents to remain calm, go to the nearest safe location, and follow news only through official channels.

The Bahrain Defense Force Command had announced on Saturday that this country’s air defense systems tracked and intercepted a number of airstrikes by the Islamic Republic of Iran and asked citizens not to approach any unidentified objects left behind from those strikes.

Bahrain hosts the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet.
