🔸 Anaita Papiast, an underground singer, sentenced to 74 lashes

Anaita Papiast, a female underground singer, has been sentenced by Iran’s Islamic Republic judiciary to 74 lashes.

The artist, who had posted videos of her singing on her personal Instagram, was convicted of the charge of “wounding public chastity.”

In addition, the ruling included confiscation of her passport and the blocking of her mobile phone. The sentence was issued by Branch 1088 of the Tehran Crimes Court of the Judiciary Complex.

On her personal Instagram page, Anaita posted an image of the court’s ruling and the receipt for the confiscation of her passport at the airport, and wrote: “Dour Gardoon Gar Do Rozi Bar Mârem Nرفت / Dâ’eman Yeksân Nâbasad Hâl-e Dourân, Gham Mخور.”

Previously, Parasto Ahmadi, a singer, along with eight other people involved and musicians of the “Caravanserai Concert” were also sentenced to 74 lashes of ta‘zir, two years of being barred from leaving the country, and two years of being banned from artistic activity.
