Ali Ma’mouri, a professor at Deakin University and adviser on strategic relations to the former Iraqi prime minister, said: “The attack on the oil pipeline facilities in Saudi Arabia is important in that this route is the largest alternative for transporting oil instead of the Strait of Hormuz, and targeting it has significantly affected the price of oil.”
