According to the New York Post, Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has asked that Gianni Infantino, the head of the International Football Federation (FIFA), be appointed as the next Secretary-General of the United Nations.

Trump believes that Infantino enjoys widespread respect and has a special ability to bring people together. Trump also assesses his international standing and experience in leading FIFA as qualifications for succeeding Antonio Guterres.
