〰 According to a Semafor report, Shawn Perrinell, the Pentagon’s senior spokesperson, has been raised as one of the main options to replace Dan Dinscool in the U.S. Secretary of the Army role.
Perrinell has not yet confirmed his candidacy, but several Trump administration officials support him, citing his close relationship with Pete Hegseth, the defense secretary, as well as his familiarity with the Pentagon and the U.S. Army.
Brian Mast, the former Republican representative from Florida and a former volunteer in the Israeli army, is also being considered and recently met with Hegseth. However, some administration officials have raised concerns that removing Mast from Congress before the midterm elections could create political complications for the White House.
