🔻Abraham Lincoln and sailors who, after 250 days, are resting and having leisure in Pattaya
After a record 250 days at sea without stopping in any port, the nuclear aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln has docked in Thailand, and almost 5,000 of its crew members have finally found time to rest—something they had long needed.
The ship is docked near Pattaya port, a city known for its loud, lively nightlife and sex tourism. For the United States, this city is also a historical reminder.
When the exhausted sailors go into the bars and restaurants of the city, they are in fact stepping into the footsteps of hundreds of thousands of American soldiers who came here for rest and leisure during the Vietnam War.
