The video, obtained by Iran International and filmed from a vessel near the filming site, records U.S. Army radio warnings to the Islamic Republic tanker STARK 1 before it was targeted near Khark Island.
In the video, three warnings are heard via the VHF channel. In the first warning, a U.S. military aircraft tells the motor tanker STARK 1: “Motor tanker STARK 1, this is a United States military aircraft. I am preparing to fire at the aft section of your ship. You have three minutes to evacuate the crew from the aft section. All.”
In the second warning, this time is reduced to one minute. The third and final warning says: “This was your last warning—get into the lifeboats and leave the ship immediately.”
Between the warnings, the crew’s voices can be heard speaking in Persian and Urdu. One of them asks whether the captain and his deputy are at their posts or not. In response, it is said that the captain is still asleep.
Islamic Republic media reported on Saturday morning that a tanker had been targeted by U.S. forces at a distance of six miles from Khark Island, but they did not announce the name of the vessel.
