🔶 “West’s Efforts to Refer Iran’s Nuclear Case to the UN Security Council”
According to Reuters, the United States, Britain, France and Germany are seeking to refer Iran’s nuclear case— for the first time in the past 20 years— to the UN Security Council by adopting a resolution at the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency next week.
Reuters, citing diplomats and the draft resolution text, wrote that this action will follow the resolution of June 12 last year.
That resolution said the Islamic Republic has violated its non-proliferation (nuclear weapons) obligations for not fully cooperating with the Agency’s investigations into the effects of uranium at undeclared sites.
