🔺Wave of condemnation over drone attack on Saudi Arabia’s oil pipeline

▪Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned, “in the most severe terms,” the drone attack on the East-West oil pipeline, which was carried out from Iraqi territory.

▪In a statement published by the Saudi official news agency, it said: “Saudi Arabia, following the request of the Iraqi prime minister to give the government of our brother Iraq an opportunity, has decided not to respond at this stage and to support the efforts of the Iraqi government.”

▪At the same time, Iraq’s prime minister’s office condemned the attack and dismissed the commander of operations in Maysan province. The Iraqi prime minister ordered the formation of a “investigation council.”

▪Qatar also called the targeting of civilian and economic facilities “a condemnable act and a clear violation of international law,” and praised Saudi Arabia’s restraint.
