UN independent international fact-finding mission on Iran in its latest report

The UN independent international fact-finding mission on Iran announced in its latest report that there are reasonable grounds to believe that during the war with the Islamic Republic, the United States committed a “war crime” in two air strikes on Iran. According to this report, these attacks killed at least 178 civilians, including women and children.

In a report submitted to the UN Human Rights Council, the fact-finding mission examined the U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran on 9 Esfand 1404 and concluded that in two instances the United States carried out indiscriminate attacks that resulted in civilians being killed or injured and in damage to civilian sites.

Based on the findings of the fact-finding mission, in one of these cases, Tomahawk missiles struck the elementary school “Tree of Virtue” in Minab. The mission said the school was clearly identifiable and that more than 150 people, including about 120 children, were killed in this attack.

In the other case, the United States, using precision-guided missiles, scattered tungsten fragments over a sports complex and a residential area in Larestan. According to the report, this attack killed 22 civilian women and men.
