👉 UK Maritime Trade Operations Organization: A Commercial Vessel Was Hijacked in the Gulf of Aden

The UK Maritime Trade Operations Organization announced that a commercial vessel, 65 nautical miles south of Al Mukalla in Yemen, while sailing eastward in the Gulf of Aden, was seized by unauthorized individuals.

According to an update from UKMTO, the vessel was transferred to the territorial waters of Somalia after the seizure, and the incident has been officially classified as a “hijacking.”

Investigations into the details of the incident are ongoing, and passing ships have been advised to proceed with caution.
