🔻Trump: Russia and Ukraine agreed not to attack each other’s energy facilities
Donald Trump, the U.S. president, said Ukraine and Russia have agreed not to target each other’s energy facilities. Mr. Trump wrote on his social media: “Ukraine has agreed not to target Russia’s energy facilities. Russia has also agreed to do the same.”
Mr. Trump had also said yesterday that the increase in diesel fuel prices is due to the war in Ukraine, not the war in Iran, and he had asked Ukraine to stop attacks on diesel fuel facilities in Russia.
He called the Ukrainian president the cause of a fuel shortage, not the war in the Middle East.
The Ukrainian army had announced yesterday that the night before it targeted two more Russian oil refineries; one in the south and the other about 900 kilometers east of Moscow.
Ukraine’s attacks on Russian oil facilities have caused a fuel shortage in many parts of that country.
Recent developments in the Bab-el-Mandeb strait and the Red Sea, in addition to the insecurity in shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, have increased concerns about fuel supply around the world.
