Traffic Police of Razavi Khorasan: Wکیلآباد incident was not intentional or security-related
According to Fars, Mohsen Musaabad said: “Investigations carried out show that this incident was not intentional or security-related, and the reason it occurred was the loss of the ability to control the vehicle due to the driver’s seizure.”
The incident happened last night when “a Hyundai vehicle traveling from west to east on Vali-e-Asr Boulevard (Vکیلآباد) was moving at a relatively high and unreliable speed. This vehicle collided with a Changan vehicle traveling in the parallel lane, and the balance of the Hyundai vehicle was lost and its course changed.”
According to the head of Traffic Police of Razavi Khorasan, “after this collision, the vehicle hit barrels and traffic signs, and then entered a populated area where people were present along the side of the street to support the system and the armed forces.”
In this incident, four people were killed and 11 others were injured.
Dawood Shakibayi, the head of Urban Traffic Police of the FARAJA, said that the Hyundai driver “was a man of about 35 years old” who, due to a “history of seizures,” suffered a seizure at the time of the incident and lost the ability to control the vehicle.
He also said: “The medical records of this person were extracted during the investigations and it was determined that he had a history of seizures. It was also confirmed by the driver’s wife and by the driver himself, and it was announced that the driver was taking medications related to this condition and had even taken action to consume his medications before the occurrence of the incident.”
