Thursday, 18 Tir 1405, and on the third day of reciprocal attacks between Iran and Washington, “Mai Sato,” the UN Special Rapporteur on human rights in Iran, expressed concern about the resumption of clashes between the two countries, saying that the people of Iran have again been caught between foreign attacks and the Islamic Republic’s crackdown.

She wrote on the social media platform X that the escalation of tensions across the region is deeply worrying and that the United States’ attacks on Iran are “illegal” from the perspective of international law.

In this post, she described carrying out attacks after the signing of an agreement between the two countries as “concerning,” and wrote that this action shows that “the agreements have been set aside and force has replaced diplomacy.”
