🔶 The United States said it remains committed to the agreement with Iran
The U.S. government said on Thursday, July 9, that despite renewed attacks in the region, Washington and Tehran are still trying to reach a diplomatic solution to their differences.
A U.S. government official told the German news agency that “the United States remains committed to finding a solution and technical talks are still ongoing.” He also added that the conduct of Iranian officials is “unacceptable” and constitutes a violation of the agreement framework.
In recent days, the U.S. Army has carried out several waves of attacks on targets in Iran. The U.S. government has justified these attacks by pointing to attacks by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and has attributed responsibility for the attacks to Tehran.
In the wake of these developments, U.S. allies in the Persian Gulf, including Kuwait and Bahrain, were exposed to attacks by the Islamic Republic.
