The U.S. Ambassador to NATO says he and Donald Trump, the U.S. president, deeply believe that a maritime blockade and sanctions have “bankrupted” the Islamic Republic.
In an addendum, Matthew Whitaker stated that they (the ruling regime in Iran) will no longer be able to continue the course they have taken.
He said it is completely clear what the path ahead for Iran is: “to move toward non-nuclearization, stop its attacks, and reach an agreement with Washington.”
Whitaker said a country with a population of more than 90 million people can become a “great nation,” but the Islamic Republic has chosen a path over the past 47 years that has not had good results for its people.
