❌ Syrian officials announced that an attempt to smuggle a weapons and missile consignment from the Iraqi border had been thwarted. The Syrian Ministry of Interior said it was conducting initial checks and that the consignment was intended to be transferred from Syrian territory to Lebanon and, what it called, “the terrorist militias of Hezbollah.”
The Syrian Ministry of Interior said that security forces, after identifying a suspicious vehicle in the border strip, inspected it and discovered and seized a consignment containing long-range missiles, guided anti-tank missiles, and drones.
“Al-Arabiya” sources had previously reported that the seized consignment included around 150 explosive drones, a number of missiles, explosive projectiles, and advanced weapons, and was being transferred from Iraq to Lebanon via Syrian territory.
According to these sources, Syrian forces seized the consignment before it entered deeper into Syrian territory and during an intelligence-driven security operation. Investigations to identify the entities involved in this operation and the weapons transfer route are still
