🔶 Support for Ukraine; Europeans form a missile defense alliance

Germany, France, and several other European countries, together with Ukraine, have formed a new alliance to defend against ballistic missiles in response to the continued military aggression by Russia against Ukraine.

In a joint statement, these countries said the aim of the alliance is to “create a shared capability for European defense against ballistic missiles.” The statement added: “This action is not against the people of any other country; it is being undertaken for the defense of our own people.”

The group of countries intends to draw on Ukraine’s experience in countering attacks by Russia. Britain, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway are also part of this alliance.
