Shayan Samei’i, a national security expert, said the Islamic Republic is trying, with an increase in tensions and attacks on the interests of the countries on the Persian Gulf’s shores, to push these countries toward mediation and pressure on the United States to end the fighting.
He added that the Islamic Republic lacks the ability to confront the United States directly and therefore is trying to make the war regional. Samei’i warned that the continuation of these attacks may have the opposite effect and could bring the Gulf-shore countries even closer to the United States.
