Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense General Directorate said the danger it had warned about earlier in Yanbu County has been resolved. The directorate, early on Saturday local time, asked people to follow civil defense instructions and to avoid gathering and filming.
Saudi officials did not explain what prompted the warning.
At the same time, Iran’s state media claimed that the Houthi missiles had targeted this city.
Yanbu, Saudi Arabia’s oil port on the Red Sea coast, is currently the country’s main artery for oil exports.
Based on data from Kpler, the port handled 92% of Saudi Arabia’s seaborne crude oil exports last month and 78% so far this month. The importance of this port increased after the approximate halt in shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
