🔻 Russian Atomic Energy chief: Masoud Pezeshkian and Putin discussed Bushehr nuclear power plant in detail

Vladimir Putin and Masoud Pezeshkian, the presidents of Russia and Iran, discussed in detail the section on the status of the Bushehr nuclear power plant during their recent meeting in Bishkek.

The two had traveled to Kyrgyzstan to take part in the summit of the leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

According to the Russian news agency RIA Novosti, Aleksi Likhachov, head of Rosatom, said that specialists are preparing to participate in the scheduled repairs of the first unit of the Bushehr nuclear power plant, which is set to begin this month.

According to the head of Rosatom, 42 Russians are currently present at the power plant.

The vast majority of the Russian staff left the Bushehr nuclear power plant after the start of Israeli and US attacks.

During the 40-day war, the area of the nuclear power plant and its surroundings were targeted several times.

The International Atomic Energy Agency, expressing concern over the reports, had called for restraint and care for nuclear facilities.
