🔶 Resignation of Ukraine’s Prosecutor General after exposure of a corruption and fraud case
Ruslan Kravchenko, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General, stepped down after anti-corruption organizations discovered a fraud scheme linked to an institution under his management. He called this action an “informed political decision” and rejected any involvement in the case.
Kravchenko, in a message posted on the Telegram social network, said he does not intend to allow the position of Prosecutor General to be turned into a tool for clashes and political score-settling.
This resignation is directly related to recent investigations by Ukraine’s anti-corruption bodies known as “NABU and SAPO.” These two bodies had previously announced that they dismantled a criminal organization that ran a network of call centers used for fraud.
According to official reports from these institutions, leadership of this criminal network was carried out by one of the officials of Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office.
Despite the existing pressures, Ruslan Kravchenko strongly denied any connection to or involvement in the alleged fraud.
