🔻Ramin Kashf-Azar, CEO of Imam Khomeini International Airport City Company, rejected the claims that the recent U.S. sanctions against all Iranian airlines have led to foreign flights being limited or canceled.

He told ILNA: “At present, all flights of Imam Khomeini Airport are in operation, flight activities are being carried out under normal conditions, and so far no flights have been canceled.”

He also said: “So far, we have not received any letter or correspondence regarding reducing foreign flights or lowering the flight level, and no country has entered into discussions with us in this regard.”

The U.S. government said yesterday (Tuesday) that it had added all Iranian airlines that had not previously been sanctioned to its sanctions list.

The U.S. says it has taken this step as part of its campaign to economically isolate Iran. Accordingly, 27 Iranian airlines, as well as companies based in countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Malaysia, and Kazakhstan, have been sanctioned.
