Politico: Germany’s defense minister Boris Pistorius will meet Pete Hegseth in Washington on September 15, after Hegseth previously declined to hold a meeting between the two.

The meeting coincides with Pistorius’s trip to Texas for a ceremony unveiling the delivery of Germany’s first F-35 fighter jets.

The talks come after tensions in relations between the United States and Germany; in May, after Merz’s criticism of the United States’ war with Iran, Trump ordered the withdrawal of 5,000 American troops from Germany.
