🔻Nazie Kampani, the Iranian 60-meter hurdles record holder and two-speed runner, in a post on Instagram, said that her reason for migrating to the United States was her effort to achieve a better future.

🔹This Iranian track and field champion wrote in an emotional note: “I devoted all my youth to Iran... I fought, competed, won medals, and raised my country’s flag. So why should I, one day, move away from the very place where I fought for it? Why should I come into exile and start from zero again, and still run? This time not just for a medal, but for myself; for the future that was my right. But wherever in the world I am, my heart still beats for Iran, and a piece of my soul is always in Shiraz.”

🔹Nazie Kampani is one of the most prominent figures in women’s athletics in Iran. From 1393 to Farvardin 1400, she was the record holder for the women’s 100-meter hurdles in Iran. In this athlete’s distinguished career, her achievements include a bronze medal in the 60-meter hurdles at the fourth edition of the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships (1388), a silver medal in the 4x400-meter relay at the seventh edition of the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships (2016), and a silver medal in the 60-meter hurdles at the eighth edition of the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships (2018).
