Massoud Pezeshkian, the head of the government of the Islamic Republic, said at the BRICS summit in India: “Resolving the issue of Palestine requires BRICS to play a role. The issue of Palestine and the right of its people to determine their own fate are a serious test for the credibility and legitimacy of global governance.”

Pezeshkian added: “The Islamic Republic supports BRICS in strengthening political coordination based on the United Nations Charter, developing independent economic and financial relations, and expanding cooperation in the fields of science, technology, energy, and food security.”

He said: “Not misusing the territory of countries to threaten or take action against their neighbors is an untouchable principle. Serious and operational action against unilateral sanctions is also a fundamental priority for independent countries.”
