Lebanon’s president, calling the Houthi attacks on several cities in Saudi Arabia “terrorist” and targeting non-military sites in this country, strongly condemned these attacks.
Joseph Aoun said that “we are concerned about a dangerous escalation of tensions and a direct threat to Saudi Arabia’s security and to non-combatant citizens,” and emphasized Lebanon’s full support for Saudi Arabia to ensure security and stability in the region.
The Houthis, which are supported by the Islamic Republic of Iran, are listed by several countries, including the United States, Israel, and Saudi Arabia, as a terrorist group.
